Now, that I thought about it: I think, the settings for MG are correct. --enable-use-pcre changes the default PCRE engine to PCRE instead of the traditional one. So that what is used if nothing is selected by the programmer. However many of our old REs are not PCRE and will fail if interpreted as PCRE. However, even without that flag, configure searches for libpcre and we try to link against it. Then you select for each call to regexp efuns what RE type should be used. At some distant point in the future, maybe all of our RE are PCRE... |
